Inaugural Ball (but don't call her that to her face!)
Hello there, and welcome to our first family blog entry! As you may be able to guess from the blog name, we are actively engaged in the process of expanding (one of us more than the other! :) Here we plan to chronicle, for all interested parties, news and updates regarding our growing family, beginning with the twin boys currently residing at 1 Belly Way, Mommy's Tummy Illinois, 11169.
If you're especially lucky my diplopic reader :), we'll include tidbits about how mommy and daddy are faring in the face of our warp bubble expansion. And if you like, look closely for liberal sprinklings of star trek references throughout the blog, especially when written by daddy. In this case, our universe is adding people, not subtracting them, giving us the win over Dr. Beverly Crusher.
Today's pictures include mommy at 20 weeks certainly NOT looking like a Ball (oh now the post title makes sense! ;) and a cake mommy made for daddy when he turned 30 yesterday. Of note, the cake was/is beautifully designed, and it triggers waves of delight from the taste buds when noshed. The two peas on the cake symbolize mommy's wish for a good and plentiful harvest this summer, their resemblance to faces crafted so as to conjure thoughts of how green people all over the world are in desperate need of curly brown hair and pink smiles.
A quick status summary at 20 weeks for those wishing details: our latest ultrasound (19 weeks and change) revealed the two boys were growing well and had no detectable birth defects -- bones, hearts, kidneys, livers, bladders, stomachs, brains, etc. all in the right places with the right shapes and sizes. Go boys!
Check back about every two weeks or so for another post, more often once our twins pack up and move out of Mommy's Tummy :)
Love,
Daddy
